MatAlytics Ltd

a groundbreaking idea which has evolved into a leader in real-time AI software…

Founded on a decade of innovative thinking and academic research, MatAlytics, has evolved from a groundbreaking idea into a leader in real-time AI software providing physically-based information to the user. These first steps were taken at the University of Nottingham within the framework of a partly industry-funded PhD study in 2012 and subsequent publishing in international journals. In 2020 we received significant funding from the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) to wrap up the academic research in a software tool and to develop a prototype. The solution promised an innovative tool to provide power operators with crucial information to make timely informed decisions regarding operational behaviour. This prototype, successfully demonstrated at the end of 2021, not only proved our concept but also showcased the vast commercial potential of our technology.

Recognising the commercial opportunity, we embarked on the next phase of our journey by securing a coveted spot in the 10-week Lean Launch Program provided by North by Northwest. This pivotal moment was instrumental in starting to work on our business model and aligning our vision with market needs, setting the stage for our next leap forward: the participation in the ICURe Programme by Innovate UK.

The ICURe programme, the UK’s leading early-stage research pre-accelerator program, is designed to validate and accelerate innovative ideas based on academic research. During this program, we had more than 150 discussions with industry leaders around the world to test our ideas in the market. The three-month program ended in a successful pitch which recommended that we form a spin-out business. This was a testament to the potential impact of our solution, paving the way for us to apply for Innovate UK funding.

MatAlytics Ltd – Founded in 2023

The start of something…

April 2023 marked the official founding of MatAlytics, a milestone that signifies our commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions. Our journey got another significant boost in September 2023 when we received notification of our successful application for Innovate UK funding. This achievement is not just a validation of our technology but also a catalyst for growth, allowing us to scale our solution and bring our product to market.

A significant milestone in our journey was the successful spin-out from the University of Nottingham in December 2023. Officially starting operations on the 1st of January 2024, MatAlytics hit the ground running with a dedicated team including 3 technical staff and 5 board members. This team is the backbone of our company, combining expertise, passion, and a shared vision to drive innovation and deliver value to our clients.
